The Daytime Emmys are creeping in closer everybody and are less than a month away! During Round 1 of SoapView's predictions, we predicted the winners of the Big 3 races. Now, during Round 2, we will be predicting probably the most exciting of all - Acting! Y&R and B&B lead the pack with nominations in all acting categories, while GH with only four, but predicted in win in all 4... time will tell! Let's get started!
NOTE: Remember this is only Round 2, preliminary. The REAL predix for all categories are dispatched in Round 3.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR
This year's lead actor race includes 3 from Y&R and one from GH. 2 from Y&R are veterans of the show, while the third, Michael Muhney, has been on for only the past 4 years. Despite this being GH's Jason Thompson's first year competing in the lead actor category, he's the true winner. His scenes were rich, deep, powerful, emotional, and groundbreaking. The dialogue was perfection and so was his acting. Coming in a close second is Doug Davidson, who ties with Thompson for the DESERVED winner. Davidson has portrayed the role of Paul Williams for 35 years, scoring only 2 Emmy Nominations in the category. Far behind him, is Peter Bergman (Y&R) with #3 and even farther is Michael Muhney (Y&R) with #4.
WHO SHOULD WIN: Jason Thompson or Doug Davidson
WHO WILL WIN: Jason Thompson
OUSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS
This year's lead actress race features Heather Tom and Susan Flannery from B&B, Peggy McCay from DAYS, and Michelle Stafford. Tom and Flannery are locks - for even a slightly possible tie, with Flannery and her groundbreaking farewell scenes having the edge at the moment against Tom's post-affair angst scenes. McCay and Stafford could show the other two up as a surprise, but right now, that's the only thing keeping them somewhat ahead.
WHO SOULD WIN: Susan Flannery
WHO WILL WIN: Heather Tom and/or Susan Flannery
OUSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR
4-time nominee in the category, GH's Bradford Anderson is a lock for the win this year, with his [love-angst filled scenes with Jen Lilley (ex-Maxie). Facing other much less than strong nominees, Y&R's Billy Miller and Jeff Branson, and B&B's Scott Clifton, gives Anderson even more of an edge. Scott Clifton may be a last-minute surprise, considering the entire year of 2012 on B&B was based on nothing else but Liam, Steffy, and Hope.
WHO SHOULD WIN: Bradford Anderson
WHO WILL WIN: Bradford Anderson
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS
There are 5 nominees in the category this year. 2 weak nominees, Y&R's Melissa Egan and Jessica Collins are already practically out of the question. After 26 years as Brooke Logan, one of the 4 original characters on B&B, Katherine Kelly Lang has garnered her first nomination - in the supporting actress category. The reason for Lang being submitted in the supporting race is because of her strong co-star Susan Flannery already being a lock for the lead actress category. Previous Emmy-nominee, Arianne Zucker, is also nominated for her role on DAYS, and is also out of the question at the moment also. Recently departed GH's Julie Marie Berman is also nominated, too, this being her first nod in the supporting category. Berman is a previous 2-time Emmy winner in the Younger Actress category, and is a lock for the win this year. While Berman has a huge edge for the win right now, Katherine Kelly Lang is also a large possibility, too.
WHO SOULD WIN: Katherine Kelly Lang or Julie Marie Berman
WHO WILL WIN: Julie Marie Berman
OUSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR
4 nominees rock the category this year, but only one is practically a sure lock. Chandler Massey, three-time nominee and winner last year, has the award in the bag this year with his emotional rollercoaster with Sonny and dealing with his dramatic life and parents. Massey's strongest competitor, whom is quite far off with a winning chance, is previous winner and nominee, Bryton James, a young Y&R veteran. Massey is also facing first time nominees, Max Ehrich, whom was featured in a bullying storyline on Y&R, and Freddie Smith, whom happens to play Massey's on-screen boyfriend on DAYS. These Days it's a battle between the Young...

WHO WILL WIN: Chandler Massey
OUSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS
2 young woman from GH, 1 from Y&R, and 1 from B&B tally up the nominees in the infamous young actress category. While some say Jacqueline McInnes-Woods (B&B) is a lock with her love and angst filled scenes including co-star and nominee Scott Clifton, others say Kristen Alderson (GH) could also pull a fast one with her emotional scenes dealing with the deaths of her daughter and husband. Alderson has been robbed of a nomination for the past 14 years of playing the role of Starr Manning. While never winning, nor being nominated on OLTL, now she has been on GH. Facing Woods and Alderson is weaker nominees, the recently departed from GH, Lindsey Morgan, and Hunter King (Y&R) whom was featured in a bullying story. It looks as if this is a rat-race between both much-deserved young actresses, Jacque Woods and Kristen Alderson... We'll see!
WHO SHOULD WIN: Jacqueline McInnes-Woods and Kristen Alderson
WHO WILL WIN: Jacqueline McInnes-Woods and/or Kristen Alderson
