Well... Um...
Oh... we got acting clips this year! If that makes any of you happy...
Oh... and Eileen won!
Y'all ever witnessed a train wreck? Ok, wait, that was rude...
Let's start with Supporting Acting categories.
Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, Days of Our Lives) is first-time nominee and he won, and frankly, upset. We all thought this would Bradford Anderson's year. On that note, we can officially deem Bradford as the Susan Lucci of Supporting.
When Billy Bush called Martsolf's name, I knew this would be night of upsets, so did the rest of year. Don't get me wrong, I'm superbly happy for Eric; the acting in his submitted scenes was unique and different, which obviously set him apart from the others. Therefore, I am/was satisfied with Martsolf winning. In fact, good for him.
Supporting Actress seemed like a shoe-in for Jane Elliot and/or Lizzy Hendrickson. I was hoping for a tie between the two, but... Here comes Amelia Heinle with her first ever nod and win. When viewing the reels, I was very impressed with Heinle's acting, which surprised me, personally. I viewed her from the start as a possible upset. And, I was right on one thing, I guess... She upsett-ed, for sure! But, you all know, this was Jane's to lose... and she lost.
So next came Writing Team, I think... Days seemed like a shoe-in with the campy-ness of the submitted Kristen-hunched-in-the-church-ness. However, JILL proved us wrong... With her writing team winning for her/their carbon-copy-General Hospital-transplant-Little Delia-gets-smooshed story, topping Days and B&B.
So here came Directing Team, with Y&R considered the frontrunner, having won the most ever in this category, with 13 current trophies for Outstanding Directing Team. The little-splashy-trashy-show-that-could, TOLN's One Life to Live came though. Well, I was half-assed right about this. I knew if anything, One Life could for sure take this, with its directing full of seasoned directors and veterans, Jill Mitwell & Gary Donatelli. So, I guess, good for OLTL.
Yeah, and the fucking theme song even played.
Now we come to Younger Actor. I'd rather not analyze this, because y'all know who the winner should have been. He didn't win. Yada-yada, this is where I knew this show was shit.
Younger Actress... Where this Daytime Emmy Award show got even SHITTIER. Hunter King, of CBS soap (Woah!) Y&R wins with her over-the-top, crying over now being a millionaire reel. This was Kelley's Emmy. This was Kristen's. This was NOT Hunter's. Sorry. And I really hope she didn't win out of sympathy. Dear God...
By this time, I was done with this fucking shit-show. Sorry.
Outstanding Drama Series, the ever-so-adorable-sexy-soap-goddess, Donna Mills, pronounces The Young and the Restless as the victor. It doesnt matter if Jill is killing the show dead, because Y'ALL BITCHE ASSES WERE WRONGGGG.
Lol, sorry. I had to give you some comedic relief after discussing those Younger winners.
Oh, and a drunken Kelly Monaco with new General Hospital cheerleader, Michelle Stafford, presented some Spanish award. I don't know.
Billy Miller, of now General Hospital fame, wins his last Emmy for his role on The Young and the Restless. With all that hospital talk in his speech, I was hoping for a General Hospital notation, but, oh well... Y&R's loss is GH's gain. :)
YES! One VERY-well deserved win of the night, was Eileen Davidson with her FIRST-ever Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Very pleased with her; her reel stood out with its ranges and campiness. Now time for her to go bore us on Y&R--again. :)
Y'all know where to find the complete list of winners. Ok, that's mean.. I'll give them to you. :)
